England made to look like Duminys, hopefully...

Despite their mini-fightback with the ball, England will likely take a bit of (hubri)stick today after a familiar Waca crumble. It was also revealed that the leading wicket taker in the world in 2009 is not an abject bowler, as Perth-fetishist Mitchell Johnson rediscovered his slingy mojo (that link is to statsguru, not to King's Park cruising spots).

The match is still teetering nicely, however, especially when you consider the fourth innings scores at the Waca for the last ten years. In seven innings, there's six scores of over 280, with Pakistan's 72 all out in 2004 being something of a neon anomaly. Almost as iconic as 438-9, South Africa's 414-4 is the second highest successful run-chase in history, and featured a poised unbeaten half-century from JP Duminy on debut. It's v much still game on.
